Attorney Regina M. Taylor

I decided to become a lawyer when I was in the fourth grade when I saw a lawyer on television. I always loved mystery books, solving puzzles, and brain teasers.
My love for helping people comes naturally. My parents owned a small business in my community and people always came to my father for advice or assistance about their problems. My father was not a lawyer, but a funeral director. No matter what the situation, he would give them his opinion and refer them to his lawyer or someone else that he thought could help. He would even make phone calls for them. I think I get my practical side from my mother. She has a knack for looking a at situation and getting right to the point. I think I am a perfect combination of both my parents.

I am a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University where I received a B.S. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Banking and Finance. I received my law degree in 1991 from North Carolina Central University School of Law, in Durham, North Carolina, where I was a member of the Law Journal and Chairman of the Moot Court Board.

Early on in law school, I knew I wanted to return to my hometown to practice law. I opened my practice in my hometown in 1991. Practicing at home offered me many opportunities to handle a variety of cases ranging from family law, adoptions, criminal cases, workers compensation, and wrongful death cases. After eight years in private practice, I went to work for the Catawba County Department of Social Services where I handled cases ranging from abuse and neglect of children, terminations of parental rights, adoptions, child support, and adult protective services. In 2001, I opened my practice in Gastonia. I have also worked as a contract attorney for the Alexander County Department of Social Services, Gaston County Department of Social Services, and the Lincoln County Department of Social Services.

I am licensed to practice law in North Carolina and am admitted to practice in the U.S. Federal Courts for the Western District of North Carolina and the Middle District of North Carolina. My professional memberships and affiliations include the North Carolina Bar Association Family Law, Bankruptcy Law, and Business Law Sections, the North Carolina Association of Black Attorneys, NC Advocates for Justice, the American Bar Association, and the Gaston County Bar Association.

I believe in giving back to my community. I am currently the chairperson of the Gaston County UNCF Scholarship Committee and am a leader of a Girl Scout Troop of 14 bright and intelligent girls. I am a former board member of the Gastonia Housing Authority and the former President of the Links, Inc. Piedmont Chapter.

I am married and have 2 sons.

My hobbies are reading, crocheting, basketball, and gardening.

Practicing law is what I always dreamed of doing as a child and I am thankful to be living my dream.

What Our Clients Say

Very appreciative of the emotional support and patience that went along with this journey. It was worth the wait. Big kudos to Fabienne Limage for educating me and comforting me along the way. She always made me feel heard and understood. Very thorough, which was why it took time, but we left no stone unturned. Because of that, I was awarded way more than what I even asked for when it came down to my entire case to God be the glory🙌🏾

Ms. Taylor and her staff were amazing! Very professional and got right to business! Although it was during the holidays when my divorce was being handled they replied to messages in a timely manner, they also kept me up to date on everything that was happening. Even when Cleveland County made a hiccup, Ms. Taylor still worked hard and got the matter corrected in a timely manner. I’d recommend her services to anyone who appreciates professionalism and hard work. Definitely money well spent and I thank her for her hard work.

Attorney Taylor came through for me, I was very pleased with her overall service. Additionally, she quoted me fairly and finalized my divorce case as swiftly and stress-free as possible. This was during COVID times which was an added layer of my process, but she still helped me through it. I would recommend her to anyone for their divorce case.
