What's the most widely eaten meat in the world?

I  know this question is somewhat odd, but do you know the answer?  Is it beef, lamb, pork?
Well, if you chose beef, you’re wrong.  Beef is totally off-limits to Hindus.  There are approximately 950 million followers of Hinduism in the world.  Is it pork?  Pork is not eaten by the world’s more than 1.5 billion Muslims.  Lamb, you say?  For most people, lamb is too expensive to eat on a regular basis. What’s the right answer? It’s goat.  Yes, goat is eaten more globally than any other meat.  Goat is extremely popular in the Middle East, North Africa, India, Pakistan, Mexico, and the Caribbean.  Will you be adding goat to your family’ menu?

Hrrm, according to the FAO pork is the most consumed meat at 36%, followed by poultry, then bovine meat. Goat combined with sheep is only 5%: http://www.fao.org/ag/againfo/themes/en/meat/backgr_sources.html# Where did the goat stat come from anyways?

Jay, your link is talking about meat markets and production, not consumption. Any meat that was raised and eaten without being sold on the global markets won't show up in those numbers. Goat is not a traded meat, most people that raise goats eat them themselves or sell them only within local markets.
